Description
The Worksite is built for trades and work trucks — a canopy that earns its keep on the jobsite and at the trailhead. Long-strip cut side panels do double duty: the horizontal slats add airflow and a clean industrial look, and they double as a built-in mount surface for hooks, straps, light clips, and aftermarket gear racks. Flip-up glass at the rear opens for full bed access. Two integrated roof rails up top accept crossbars or a rooftop tent so you can carry whatever the day needs. A rear brake light keeps you visible in traffic, and an integrated cap step gives you a secure footing onto the roof.
What’s included on every Worksite
- 5052 aluminum shell (~130 lb depending on bed size, naturally rust-resistant)
- Long-strip cut flip-up side panels (driver and passenger) — horizontal slat cut-outs that pull double duty: airflow without losing structure, plus the slats serve as a practical mount surface for hooks, straps, light clips, and aftermarket gear racks (run a strap straight through to secure ladders, lumber, or jugs to the outside of the cap)
- Flip-up glass rear panel for full bed access and visibility behind you
- Fixed glass front panel — see into the bed through your cab’s rear window
- Two integrated roof rails — ready to accept aftermarket crossbars or rooftop tent platforms for overlanding, kayaks, ladders, lumber, or jobsite gear
- Rear brake light — wires into your truck’s brake circuit so you stay visible in traffic
- Truck cap step — an integrated stepping point at the rear gives you a secure foothold onto the roof and to your gear
- Static roof load ~250 kg (~550 lb) parked — rated for crossbars and rooftop gear (reduce for driving per your rack maker’s limits)
- Clamp-on installation — no drilling into your truck
- Gloss Black metallic finish standard — paint-match to any factory color or 3-letter paint code available (adds 1–2 weeks)
- Weather-sealed gaskets, factory-keyed lock points, full mounting hardware, install guide
- 1-Year Limited Structural Warranty covering the shell, welds, and structural integrity
The Zero-Stress Fitment Process
Pick your truck year, make/model, and bed length above. Our California team manually cross-references your factory build sheet against our engineering molds to confirm exact fit before production begins — no tape-measure guesswork on your end. If we can’t fit your truck, your $250 deposit is refunded in full.
Made-to-order, delivered direct
The Worksite is built to order at our overseas manufacturing partner, then QC-inspected and crated in California. Timeline: about 10–12 weeks in the factory and 2–3 weeks to our Orange County warehouse. Reserve your build with a $250 deposit applied to your total. We confirm your spec and bill the balance before it ships.
Then choose how you get it: free local pickup at our Orange County warehouse, or LTL freight delivery to your driveway with a live shipping quote calculated at checkout based on your address.
Need built-in side cabinets, a different cabinet layout, or a custom kit? Send us a photo and we’ll quote a custom build within 24 hours.

Common questions
What buyers ask us most before pulling the trigger on a Chitin build.
Have another question? Will this cap fit my exact truck?
Yes — as long as your truck matches the make, model, generation, and bed length you select above. Our cuts are model-specific. If you're between generations or unsure, message us your VIN and we'll confirm fitment.
What's included in the box?
The cap, all mounting hardware, gaskets, install guide, and the keys for any lock points on your config. You'll need basic hand tools and (recommended) a second pair of hands to set it on the bed.
How long until it reaches me?
Every CHITIN is made to order. From your $250 deposit, it takes about 10–12 weeks for your build to reach our Orange County warehouse — roughly 8 weeks production at our partner factory plus ~2 weeks of ocean freight to OC.
Once it arrives, you choose free local pickup or LTL freight to your address — your exact freight rate is calculated live at checkout when the balance is invoiced.
Can I add accessories later?
Yes. Crossbars, drawers, LED lights, and most side panel addons can be added post-install. Some integrated options (like the kitchen kit) are easier to spec during the initial build.
What if it arrives damaged?
Because our canopies ship in heavy-duty industrial wooden crates, damage is rare. However, you must inspect the crate before signing the driver's delivery receipt. If the crate is compromised, note "Damaged" on the paperwork and email photos to orders@chitincap.com immediately so we can file a carrier claim and swap your unit.
